The Seafoam Drum Chair is what you pick when guests are going to stay for pie and a second coffee. The seat is a deep, rounded drum cushion wrapped in teal vinyl with a piped edge, and the back is a curved panel of oak-veneer plywood held on two slim black steel uprights. The look sits right between a 1950s coffee shop and a modern cafe.
Construction
- Powder-coated black steel frame with an H-stretcher between the legs
- Molded plywood back with oak veneer and a clear commercial lacquer
- Seat built on a solid base with high-resilience foam, wrapped in contract vinyl and piped around the edge
- Glides to suit your floor
The thick seat hides its own frame, so there is no seam on top to trap crumbs, and vinyl wipes clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
Where it works
Booth-facing chairs in a diner, waiting areas by the counter, bakery-cafes and soda fountains with a mid-century palette. Teal pairs well with cherry red booths or with natural oak tables.
Options: vinyl color (teal shown; red, mustard, black, cream and more), back veneer (oak or walnut tone), frame color, piping in a contrast color. Foam can be specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
