FAQ
What are standard diner booth dimensions?
A typical diner booth has an 18 in (46 cm) seat height, a 22-24 in (56-61 cm) overall depth for a single booth and 44-48 in (112-122 cm) for a back-to-back double, and a 36-42 in (91-107 cm) back. Allow about 24 in (61 cm) of seat length per guest. A four-guest bay of two single booths and a 30 in table runs about 70-72 in (178-183 cm) wall to wall.
What vinyl should a diner booth use?
A contract-grade vinyl with a published abrasion rating well above the 15,000 double rubs often quoted as the contract minimum (many diner vinyls rate 100,000 or more), a cold crack rating suited to your climate, stain and bleach-cleanability guidance from the maker, and foam and cover specified to CAL TB 117-2013. We send samples with the shop drawings.
Do you use real chrome?
Trim is specified per project. Many of our renders show brass-tone caps; for a classic diner we can supply chrome-plated or polished stainless caps and table edges, or a ribbed aluminum edge on tables. Tell us the look and we confirm the material and finish on the drawing.
Can you match a specific vintage color?
Usually yes. Send a photo or physical sample and we source the closest contract vinyl, then send cuttings for approval in your own lighting. You can also supply your own vinyl or leather (COM/COL), as long as it is suitable for commercial upholstery.
Are your booths fire-rated?
We specify fire-retardant foams and contract-grade covers to your market's rules on request, for example CAL TB 117-2013, the California smolder standard for upholstered furniture. Test reports for specific items are supplied where available. Your local fire code may require more in some occupancies, so confirm with your fire official.
How are booths installed?
Booths arrive in sections with fixing details. Wall booths are usually fixed to the wall or to each other; doubles stand free or are anchored to the floor. Your contractor installs them following our drawings, typically in a day or two for a small diner.
What table size goes with a diner booth?
For two 48 in single booths facing each other, a 30 x 48 in (76 x 122 cm) table at 30 in (76 cm) high is standard. For two guests, 24 x 30 in (61 x 76 cm). The table edge should overlap the front of each seat by 3-4 in (8-10 cm).
How do I clean vinyl booths without damaging them?
Wipe daily with warm water and a mild soap, rinse and dry. For stubborn marks, follow the vinyl maker's cleaning guide; many contract vinyls list an approved diluted bleach solution. Avoid solvent cleaners, abrasive pads and alcohol-based sanitizers unless the vinyl maker approves them, because they strip the protective topcoat.
Why do vinyl booths crack?
Usually because of heat, sunlight, harsh cleaners or a vinyl with a poor cold crack rating near cold doors and windows. Cheaper vinyls lose plasticizer and stiffen. A good contract vinyl, regular gentle cleaning and keeping booths out of direct sun extend life considerably.
Do you make diner counter stools?
Our standard range focuses on booths, tables and chairs. Counter and bar stools can be built from your drawings or a reference on request, with seat heights of 24-26 in (61-66 cm) for a 36 in counter and 30 in (76 cm) for a 42 in bar.
How long does an order take?
Typically 30-45 days for standard designs and 45-60 days for custom work after drawing and sample approval, plus sea transit. Every quote confirms the timeline for your order. Large or highly custom orders are scheduled with you before deposit, so the delivery date lines up with your opening.
Is there a minimum order?
Minimums are low for contract orders and confirmed per design. Booths, tables and chairs for one diner can ship together in a mixed container load. A single diner is a normal project size for us. Tell us the quantities and we confirm them in the quote.
Where is Diner Booth Co. furniture made?
At EASEN's own production base in Lecong, Shunde District, Foshan, China. We ship factory-direct; there is no US warehouse. That is how we can build every booth to your exact wall length and color. Diner Booth Co. is a line of EASEN Commercial Furniture.
Can I get a sample booth first?
Yes. A pre-production sample is available on request, so you can sit in it, check the vinyl and trim and test cleaning before the full order is made. Samples are built from the same approved drawings and materials as the production run.
