Horizontal channels give a banquette the long, low lines of 1950s car upholstery, and they make a wall run look calmer than vertical tufting. The Malt Shop banquette runs four deep rolls across a tall back, sits on a single long seat cushion and finishes in a crisp, square end panel outlined in mustard piping.
Construction
- Hardwood and plywood frame, built to your wall length and joined in sections on long runs
- Horizontal channel rolls, individually filled
- High-resilience foam seat over a solid deck
- Recessed walnut plinth with a shadow gap under the seat
Where it works
Wall banquettes facing two-tops in diners and malt shops, coffee shop window walls, and brunch rooms where a long bench seats more guests than chairs on the same wall. Square ends sit flush against a return wall or a host stand.
Cover choice
The oatmeal boucle in the image gives a soft, modern-retro look but marks more easily than vinyl. For high-volume service we suggest a textured contract vinyl in cream or oatmeal that keeps the same color story and wipes clean.
Options: length, back height, number of rolls, cover and color, piping color, plinth finish, single or double-sided. Foam can be specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
