Before upholstered backs took over, soda fountains seated customers on padded benches against painted wood. This double booth brings that look back: the back is solid white beadboard, only the seats are upholstered.
Design details
- Central back in white painted vertical beadboard, shared by both seats
- Walnut cap rail along the top of the back, a natural hand-hold
- Thick red vinyl seat cushions on each side, with rounded edges
- Dark wood plinth under the full footprint
A wood back is very hard to damage and very easy to clean: wipe it, touch up the paint once a year, done. It also costs less to recover a booth when only the seats need new vinyl. Run several doubles down the centre of a family diner or ice-cream parlour with the beadboard echoing wainscoting on the walls.
Construction: hardwood and plywood frame, glued and screwed; beadboard in painted MDF or solid wood; hardwood cap rail; high-resilience foam; contract vinyl. Foam can be specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
Options: paint colour, cap rail finish, seat colour, length, back height, single version for walls.
