Not every retro room is red and chrome. The Bluebird uses a soft slate blue vinyl inside a dark stained wood frame, the kind of booth found in a 1960s roadside coffee shop with wood paneling and globe lights.
Construction
- Dark stained hardwood frame and wood-faced seat box
- Single wide back cushion and seat cushion in contract vinyl
- Exposed wood top rail and side panels with eased edges
- Plinth base slightly recessed
The wood frame takes knocks and can be touched up, while the cushions can be re-covered without rebuilding the booth, a sensible design for restaurants that want to change colors every few years.
Options: blue, teal, sand, rust or any contract vinyl; wood stain; length; back height; double-sided version.
In a row along a paneled wall, booths can share end panels so the line of wood frames runs continuously. Pair with a black-top table and molded-ply chairs for a complete 1960s coffee shop set.
